Where is Massapequa Preserve?
Massapequa Preserve is in Nassau County on Long Island, New York. It stretches from Merrick Road north to the Southern State Parkway. Nassau County lists its address as Merrick Road and Ocean Avenue, Massapequa, NY 11758.
Entrances and parking
Choose an entrance near the section you want to explore. The Merrick Road and Ocean Avenue entrance is the start of the Nassau-Suffolk Greenbelt Trail. The reservoir is farther north, between Sunrise Highway and Clark Street.
For reservoir access, DEC identifies parking on Lake Shore Drive or at a dirt turnoff off Sunrise Highway just east of Massapequa train station. Check current signs, restrictions and available space when you arrive. Nearby residential streets may have additional restrictions; keep driveways and access routes clear and be courteous to neighbors.
By train
DEC identifies Massapequa station on the LIRR Babylon Branch as an access point for the reservoir. This is Massapequa station, rather than the separate Massapequa Park station.
