At the Jerusalem Avenue entrance to Massapequa Preserve, we have enjoyed a small, unofficial garden beside the stream. Local residents have tended the planting, and a bench offers a place to pause and take in the setting.
A quiet stop beside the stream
Seasonal flowers have made this a favorite detail of our visits. The planting and appearance can change throughout the year, so treat this as a local observation rather than a formal park attraction.
The garden is along the Bethpage Bikeway route, near the preserve’s lakes and stream. Stay on established paths and leave the planting undisturbed.
