I’ve never been in the preserve without seeing ducks and swans on the streams and lakes. Rabbits, squirrels and a variety of birds add to the feeling that you are walking through a wildlife sanctuary surrounded by suburbia.
Birdwatching in the preserve
Look for birds along the water and among the trees. Hawks, robins and cardinals are among the birds we have noted here. What you see will depend on the season, weather and time of day; a sighting is never guaranteed.
Watching wildlife respectfully
Stay on established paths and give animals plenty of space. Quiet observation lets you enjoy their behavior without crowding them. A camera with a longer lens can help you photograph wildlife from a distance.
